When we took our first date in 1989, we had no idea that what seemed so natural to us - connecting with people - would lead us to start an organization. The conversations that took place in that 1984 Ford Mustang contained the initial ingredients that would lead to founding Fahrenheit: Real. Life. Mentoring in 2014.
After saying “we do” in 1991, we began a journey of jobs that took us to different places. Through the years spent in those jobs, we wanted to be able to build an authentic DNA that represented what we thought could be good ground for providing men, women, singles, and families real connection within authentic relationships. Realizing our approach didn’t fit any mold we were given, we prayerfully took a leap of faith to start our own.
Since founding Fahrenheit: Real. Life. Mentoring, we’ve been able to effectively provide tools that help people really connect on a heart level. What we always thought could be achieved when people dared to get involved in others lives we see happening.
Michael & Cristi Gerecke: Team Portugal
Michael and Cristi moved to Portugal in 2009 not knowing anybody, much less a word of Portuguese. Since then it has become their home and a place where they have invested their lives. From hosting baby showers, bible studies, English conversation practice, family dinners, back to school gatherings, and countless parties thrown together for any excuse they could think of to make an impact for Jesus in Coimbra.
John & Shannon Irwin:

John and Shannon have a passion for helping and building relationships with people. He was previously a Pastor of a church in Norman, OK and worked in church administration. John is our part-time Logistics Coordinator. Shannon is a 4th grade teacher and helps lead workshops for Fahrenheit. They have been married for 26 years and have 3 amazing kids, Shelbi, Samuel and Jaycee.
